Welcome to the camp of Company A, 3rd U. S. Infantry. We are glad you could come by to learn a little about our group.

Our interest is living history, a hobby in which participants (reenactors) portray persons who lived in previous eras. Unlike a stage play, reenactors are not following a set script. Instead, they have studied the chosen period in enough detail that they can perform daily functions in a period manner.

When we come to camp, we literally step back to the year 1863 in our dress, speech, food, attitudes and activities.

Company A, 3rd U. S. Infantry is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, established to provide the public education regarding the American Civil War, support preservation of all historical matters and to interpret Civil War history through demonstrations and exhibits.

We are a family oriented, mainstream organization which welcomes any individual with an interest in the American Civil War to join our organization.
